Singapore’s most hacked password,‘123456’, appears in over 42.5 million data breaches and is used by 4.5 million people worldwide, according to a Preply report.

Close behind is “123456789,” which has been compromised 18.3 million times. The third most common password, “qwerty,” has been exposed in 10.7 million breaches.
“Password” ranked fourth, appearing in 10.4 million breaches whilst ‘1234567’ landed on fifth.
The report also found that 96% of the most commonly hacked passwords are under 10 characters.
For letter-based passwords, “qwerty” tops the list, appearing over 10.7 million times whilst “Password,” has appeared 10.4 million times, used by over 700,000 people.
Even passwords that mix letters and numbers, like “qwerty123” and “abc123,” are not secure as these were found in millions of breaches.
