CSE Global subsidiary initiates legal proceedings over SBLC dispute

The company intends to recover the $8.1m (US$6m) paid under the SBLC.

CSE Global Limited announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, CSE W-Industries, Inc., is initiating legal proceedings in Texas, US against a customer.

The dispute stems from a construction project in which W-Industries acted as a sub-contractor, with the customer serving as the general contractor.

The issue involves a Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) issued in favor of the customer, resulting in a $8.1m (US$6m)  payment on 20 December 2024. CSE contends that the customer’s draw on the SBLC was frivolous and without merit.

The company intends to recover the $8.1m (US$6m) paid under the SBLC and will vigorously pursue legal claims to protect its contractual rights. The board has sought legal advice and will take all necessary steps to preserve the company’s interests in this matter.

CSE noted the legal proceedings are in their preliminary stages, making it difficult to quantify the financial impact on the Group’s performance for FY2024.

Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing with the company’s shares.
