US warns against travel to Singapore with COVID level ‘unknown’

SG now joins three other countries with unknown travel health notice levels.

The United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) has warned against travel to Singapore where the level of COVID is currently “unknown.”

In a reclassified travel health notice (THN), the CDC said “even fully vaccinated travellers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants,” when travelling to Singapore.

“If you must travel to Singapore, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel,” CDC advised.

On its website, the CDC said countries that have “unknown” THN levels are “advised to follow THN Level 4 recommendations.”

Singapore now joins Afghanistan, North Korea, and Syria amongst countries that were placed under an “unknown” THN level by the US, Bloomberg reported.

Last 18 October, Singapore was classified under THN Level 4.
